Clearing and custody of shares
The Benleumi maintains several agreements with brokerages and clearing houses, enabling it to provide its clients with global custody services – receiving dividends, interests, payment distribution, transfers and stock holding.
The Benleumi Bank provides foreign securities clearing services – "Actual Settlement " – future clearing based on an actual debit / credit as executed in practice in a stock exchange abroad.
For example: in the U.S., stocks are cleared after three U.S. business days. In the U.S., options are cleared after one U.S. business day. In Europe, stocks are cleared within up to seven European business days (based on the actual clearing policy of the relevant stock exchange abroad). Thus, the customer will be charged for purchases on the actual clearing date and not beforehand.
